Happy Joe
Dalmatian (mix) - adult male

Hey there. My name is Happy Joe, can you tell why by the picture of me with a big smile on my face!!! I'm a two year old deaf Dalmatian, and if no one told you I was deaf, you would never guess it. I sorta look like my foster brother Tucker, but I'm not quite as big and I have more white on me than he does. In fact, Tucker and I are alot alike. I, too, am very well behaved in the house, calm, laid back, and sleep in my foster mom's room with some of my foster brothers and sisters. I get along great with the cats, who sometimes sleep on the doggie bed with me at night. I know some hand commands like sit, lie down and come. I'm gentle, loving, sweet, and good with kids. I love to play with my foster brothers and sisters but I also like to lie in the sun and chill out. Since it's raining so much lately, I've been coming in with a little mud on me. Can you tell by the pictures of me with mud all over by face? One of my favorite things is having my belly rubbed so I spend alot of time on my back. I was dumped on someone's horse farm last year and the nice lady contacted my foster mom to ask her if she had room for me, which she did. I'm pretty much a "country boy" at heart and would love to live in a home with a fenced in yard and have a doggie brother or sister to run and play with. If you have room in your home and your heart for a great boy like me, please fill out the application and send it in. If you have any questions about me, please email my foster mom Liz at lizziz101@bellsouth.net

Tucker
Dalmatian (mix) - adult male

Hi, my name is Tucker. I'm a 4 year old Dal mix. A local shelter called my foster mom on my last day, one day last year, and asked her if she would take me. My family and I moved to GA from another state and they didn't want me anymore so they took me to the shelter.I don't understand how they could leave me there and drive off knowing my chances of making it out alive were slim to none. Lucky for me, my foster mom had room for me so she came down and got me. I'm a big boy; very sweet and gentle. I love to play with other dogs, am great with cats and I really like kids. When I first came to live with my foster mom, she saw that something was wrong because I was going to the bathroom in my crate. She took me to Dr Sue to have me checked out. Dr Sue did some tests and found that I have marginal kidney function, which means my kidneys don't concentrate my urine, whatever that means. I'm on Purina NF food and doing really well. Dr Sue told my foster mom I can live a long happy life without any problem. I would do best though, in a house with a doggie door, so I could go outside to go to the bathroom whenever I have to. My foster mom doesn't have a doggie door but when she has to go someplace, she leaves the kitchen door open for me so I can go out when I have too. I haven't spent any time in a crate in a very long time. Even with my little "problem", I don't have any accidents in the house, because I know when I have "to go" so I either go outside or let my foster mom know I have to go and she opens the door for me. She can't believe how well behaved I am in the house. I have never chewed or destroyed anything and I'm not a barker either. I sleep in my foster moms room at night with some of my foster brothers and sisters. I love to play and run in the backyard, especially after it rains because we like to run and play in the mud, as you can see from a one my pictures where I have mud on my nose. My foster mom thinks I'm the best thing since sliced bread and she is hoping a nice family will come along and give me the wonderful forever home I deserve. If you would like a great big boy who is absolutely awesome, please fill out the application and send it in. If you would like more information about me, please email my foster mom Liz at lizziz101@bellsouth.net

Dixie
Dalmatian (mix) - young female

Dixie came from Germany and moved/lived near Birmingham, AL with a family who  had  two  small children Her  owner's parents ordered their daughter to leave Dixie outside chained to a tree. She was so dirty from living outside she was as red as Alabama Clay. The father of the familywho is in the military and stationed in Iraq, came home but they were sent back to Germany to live. Sadly, Dixie couldn't go with them this time. Although Dixie was upset about leaving behind and didn't understand, her family wanted her to have a better home here in the United States than where she would be living in Germany because she is such a wonderful dog and she deserves so much better. So they turned her over to her foster mom, Cathy.

Dixie is a very energetic, deaf Dal gal. She is shy at first but once she warms up to you she's very loving and sweet. She gets along with all her foster sisters and brothers.  Dixie is so fast, she can outrun the other dogs when they play "chase me" in the backyard. She loves to play ball and will play fetch with it. Dixie is  housebroken with supervision, crate trained but she doesn't like being in it. She will bark while she's in her crate until her foster mom stops paying the other dogs attention and gives her undivided attention to Dixie. Dixie is being trained using hand commands and already knows "sit" and "lie down". Her foster mom is now working on "stay".  She would be a perfect candidate for agility training, flyball sessions or even as a jogging partner with her guardian. If you can provide Dixie with the kind of home she deserves, please fill out an application and send it in. If you would like more information on her, please email her foster mom at catsaye@tmail.com.
