Nelson

ADOPTED!

As I type this, Lucky (formerly known as Nelson) is right beside me, sound asleep, and a minute ago he was having a happy dream because he was wagging that silly tail in his sleep. He is so precious. Each day he seems to settle in a little more, and we fall more and more in love with him. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
I can't explain what happened when I saw Lucky. Emilia and I have gone to the Humane Society at least once a month since she was three (she's 9 now) just to hug puppies and love on the kitties, and wečve snuggled on lots of rescue pets in front of PetSmart over the years. But no matter how tempted we were, we have never come home with anybody. So it's not like I don't have willpower when it comes to cute animals. Maybe Lucky and I knew each other in a past life or something, I just took one look at him and I knew he was my dog. If you ever see those girls from Midtown that wanted them, kiss them on both cheeks for me and tell them how glad I am they never showed up!
Thanks for all your help and advice. And mostly thank you for Lucky. -- Wendy

Dominick
ADOPTED!

Dominick is approx 18 months old and handsome young male Dalmatian. He has 2 brown eyes but has beautiful blue speck in his right eye. He is very small for a Dal, weighing in around 40 pounds. Dominick and his sister Lady Jane were turned into a shelter in Darlington, SC by their previous owner with no reason given. Dominick is sweet but timid around people and in new situations. We think he and his sister were never socialized around humans. Dominick is learning to walk on a leash and is learning housetraining and crate training. Dominick seems to really like people and wants to be around them, he is just unsure about them. He is making great progress though and will make a wonderful companion. Dominick is a very handsome boy and due to his size would be a great dog for just about any home. Do you have a place for Dominick in your home?

Isabella

ADOPTED!

Hello there. My name is Isabella. I'm 4 years old, have one blue and one brown eye and my foster mom tells me all the time how beautiful she thinks I am. I was taken from a local shelter where one of the employees told my foster mom that I was a "perfect lady" and couldn't believe how sweet I was. He was a nice man and was so happy to see me get out of that place. I'm a bit on the chunky side right now but my foster mom has me on a diet, so I'll be back in shape in no time. I'm doing really well too. I'm VERY housetrained and haven't spent one night in a crate since being here. Sometimes I like to sleep on a blanket and sometimes I like to curl up in one of the doggie beds in my foster mom's bedroom. She calls me her "couch potato" because I'm such a lazy girl. I get along fine with all my foster sisters and brothers and ignore the cats, but I would be just as content being an only dog. I'm also sort of goofy. When my foster mom talks to me in a happy voice and calls me "Izzy" or her "Isabella Mia", I roll over and make these funny faces.. as you can see in my pictures. I'm really calm, laid back and very gentle. I love to get kisses and belly rubs, like my foster brother, Happy Joe. My foster mom can't believe my owner never reclaimed me from the shelter because I'm such a good girl. I honestly can't believe it either. I don't know why they didn't come looking for me, but my foster mom says they don't deserve to have me back so it's just as well they didn't come to take me home. I'm pretty much a perfect girl who does no wrong. If you would open your home and your heart to me, I promise I will be the best dog you ever had. Oh yeah, I would make a great apartment dog too because I'm so quiet and laid back. If you're interested in adopting me, please fill out an application and send it in. you won't be sorry. If you have any questions about me, please email my foster mom Liz at lizziz101@bellsouth.net

Manny

ADOPTED!

Hi there, my name is Manny. I'm a very handsome, heavily spotted Dal boy who is about 3 to 4 years old. I was in a local shelter for just over two months. Do you believe that??? My foster mom couldn't. My time at the shelter was just about to run out until Miss Caroline emailed my foster mom and asked her if she would take me. I'm a good boy, very submissive and sweet and love love love to be anywhere my foster mom is. I get along with all my foster brothers and sisters and really don't care one way or the other about the cats. I'm well behaved, quiet, laid back, crated trained and housebroken with supervision. I like to play with toys and I'm good with kids. If you would like a Dal with my sweet disposition, please go to www.southernhopedals.com and fill out an application. If you have any questions about me, please email my foster mom at lizziz101@bellsouth.net

Socrates

ADOPTED!

Hi, my name is Socrates and I'm a three year old deaf Dalmatian. I was picked up at my house, by Animal Control because my family didn't want me anymore. You'll never guess why?? They thought I was "stupid" because I wouldn't come when they called me or do anything they asked me to do. What they didn't realize is that I was deaf and I couldn't hear them when they called me. They didn't even know some of us Dals are deaf. So, because they thought I was stupid, they chained me outside and left me there, until they decided I wasn't worth keeping. I was nothing to them but a piece of property. They didn't even think enough of me to take me to the vet to see why I wouldn't listen to them. I never had the chance, until I went to my foster home, to run free in a backyard and play with other dogs. I'm really doing well since I've been with my foster mom, Cathy. I'm crate trained and housebroken with supervision. She is teaching me hand commands and I already know come, hug, hush and sit. We're still working on lie down. If only my previous owners could see me now, how much I've learned, and realize how smart I am. I get along great with my other foster sisters and brothers. Although, I would be just as happy to be with a human family since I love to spend as much time as I can with my foster mom. I'm not dog aggressive because I get along with everybody, but I do like to eat my dinner in my crate.

Lady Jane

ADOPTED!

Lady Jane is a VERY TINY (28 pounds) approx 18 month old, female Dalmatian. She is not underweight, just a very small dal. She was pulled from the Darlington, SC shelter with her brother after their owner turned them in with no reason given. Their sister was adopted but Lady Jane and her brother Dominick were left behind. Lady Jane is a sweet, but timid little girl. She seems to really like people but is just unsure about them. We think she never was really socialized with people. She is learning to walk on a leash and is doing very well. She is learning housetraining and crate training, too. She is a beautiful girl and because of her size would be a perfect for just about any home, even an apartment. Lady Jane is spayed, up to date on her shots, and is undergoing Heartworm treatment. As soon, as her treatment is completed, she will be as good as new and ready for her new home!

Lil' Girl

ADOPTED!

My name is "Girl" because that's the only name I would answer to when the nice lady who found me called me. I'm between 3 and 4 years old. I was running loose with my brother and the same nice lady who found us, put signs up, called the area shelters and local vets but no one reported me missing or came to reclaim me. My brother ran off so, sadly, I don't know what happened to him. I hope he either ran home, or someone took him in so he's safe. I get along great with kids and believe it or not, I'm a bit scared of those cat critters. I've never seen one before, so it was quite a surprise to see one here. I have no idea what they're about but I stay as far away from them as I can. I love to play with toys and balls. When I catch a ball, I roll over on my back for one of those wonderful belly rubs I love so much. If you're interested in adopting me and taking me home to keep forever as a member of your family, please fill out the application and send it in. If you would like more information about me, please send an email with your questions to Liz at lizziz101@bellsouth.net

Purdie

ADOPTED!

Purdie, after being with me since March 2004, has finally found her wonderful forever home! I want to thank her new mama, Rhonda, for opening her home and her heart to this wonderful girl. I wish you well my sweet Purdie and know you will make me proud!
-- Love, your foster mama Liz.

Hi, my name is Purdie. Pretty original for a Dalmatian huh!! lol I'm a three year old possible Dalmatian mix, although my foster mom doesn't have any idea what I could be mixed with. But because my spots are not distinct and my fur is a little longer than most Dals, I might have something else in me.. but whatever it is, it's good. I was turned in to a local shelter because moved and didn't want to take me with them. I don't understand why because I never gave them any trouble and I'm very well behaved. I was happy in my other home and was scared to death when I first got to my foster home. I've been here for about two months and really like it, but would love a family of my own. I love kids and I'm very gentle; I don't jump up on people and try to knock them down, and I love to play outside. I'm crate trained, although I don't spend much time in one and housebroken with supervision. Oh yeah, and I talk too!!! If you would like to take me into your home and keep me forever, please go to www.southernhopedals.org and fill out an application. If you have any questions about me, please email my foster mom at lizziz101@bellsouth.net. I promise you won't be sorry.

Dylan

ADOPTED!

Hi ya, hi ya.. My name is Dylan.Yup, I'm Daisy Mae's brother Dylan. Turned in to the shelter because our owner didn't want us anymore.. she took us there knowing there was a very good chance we would be killed if not adopted. It was an awful place and we deserved better, but she was in a hurry. Anyway, our luck changed when Miss Donna called our foster mom and asked her if she had room for both of us.. she said yes and we were so happy. I'm a good boy.. about 2 years old, crate trained and housebroken with supervision. I get along great with my foster brothers and sisters and don't have a mean bone in my body. I don't mind cats and my very favorite thing to do is play with toys, especially those squeaky balls.. boy I just love those things. My pictures don't do me justice.. I'm really much better looking in person and unfortunately, I had just come in from playing in the mud outside. My foster mom is always petting me because my fur is so soft.. she says it feels like satin. Anyway, if you have room in your home and your heart for me, please go to www.southernhopedals.org and fill out an application. If you have any questions about me, please email my foster mom at lizziz101@bellsouth.net.

Rocky

ADOPTED!

YO!!! My name is Rocky. Aren't I the most handsome boy you've ever seen? Well, maybe not the most handsome, but my foster mom thinks I'm the cutest boy she has. I'm between 3 and 4 years old, crate and house trained, sweet, loving, gentle, quiet and laid back. Like my foster sister Samantha, I don't spend a whole lot of time in a crate because I'm so well behaved in the house so I get to sleep in my foster moms room at night too. My foster mom can't imagine why my owner didn't come looking for me when I was picked up by Animal Control as a stray. The shelter even held me longer than 7 days to give them more time to come and reclaim me, but no one came. I was sad at first but since I've been with my foster mom, I'm very happy to be alive. I get along fine with my foster brothers and sisters and I have no interest in the cats at all. I'm not a jumper and I love kids. If you're interested in adopting a great big wonderful boy like me, please go to www.southernhopedals.org and fill out an application. If you have any questions about me, please email my foster mom at lizziz101@bellsouth.net

Miss Mae

ADOPTED!

Hi there. My name is Miss Mae and I'm a five year old, beautiful female Dalmatian. My life has not been an easy one until a rescue group saved me and 53 other dogs from a collector. I lived my life tied to a tree, one foot away from a very aggressive Rottweiler who was always trying to get to me or left in a crate for up to 20 hours at a time. A very nice rescue group contacted my foster mom and asked if they would take me. At that time she didn't have the room, but the nice lady who runs the rescue group said they would hold on to me until my foster mom could take me. .. I guess they thought I was pretty special. About two months later I was brought to my foster mom. I'm a good girl. A little timid but doing really well. I was so used to sleeping outside that I'm still a little uncomfortable coming in the house, but once I get in there, I'm fine. I'm crate trained and housebroken with supervision. Although, when my foster mom first put me in a crate, all I did was shake I was so scared I was going to be left there like I used to be. But, now I'm fine in a crate especially since I get a treat when I go into it. My foster mom can't believe, after all I've been through, that I'm still very dog friendly and get along not only with adult dogs, but puppies too. I'm very laid back, sweet, gentle and loving. My favorite thing to do is be loved. I was heartworm positive when I came to live in my foster home but have since been treated and I'm doing really well. If you have a place for me in your home and your heart, please go to www.southernhopedals.org and fill out an application. If you have any questions about me, please email my foster mom at lizziz101@bellsouth.net.

Lea

ADOPTED!

Hi. My name is Lea. I'm a beautiful 3 year old Dalmatian who came from the same shelter as my foster sister Tessa. The Director of the shelter liked me so much he did everything he could to get my foster mom to take me because I'm such a good girl. My time at the shelter was up but he didn't want to put me to sleep. In fact, while he was on the phone with my foster mom, he told her to hold on and he ran out and took pictures of me so she could see what I looked like. Lucky for me, she fell in love with me and said she would take me. Her friend Ms Laura brought Tessa and me down to her. I'm crate trained but spend very little time in it because I'm completely housebroken and very well behaved in the house. I'm quiet, gentle and very sweet. I sleep in my foster moms room at night. I don't bother the cats and I enjoy playing and running with the rest of the gang but I would also be fine alone with my guardian. I'm a big girl but would make a great apartment dog because I'm so quiet and well behaved, as long as I went for nice long walks or got to run around in a doggie park for some exercise. If you would like to add a wonderful Dal like me to your family, or want a buddy to share your life with, please go to www.southernhopedals.org and fill out an application. If you have any questions about me, please email my foster mom at lizziz101@bellsouth.net.

Belle

ADOPTED!

My name is Belle and I was turned in to a local shelter by my owner, along with my Rottie buddy, because we weren't wanted anymore, and were being neglected and forced to live outside. My "owner" did say I had a good temperament. I don't know what happened to my Rottie friend but I hope he was as lucky to get out of the shelter as I was. At least, that's what I have to think because the thought of him being dead makes me so sad. I'm very loving, gentle and sweet, but still somewhat shy. I never knew kindness, so it's taking me a while to get used to it. I will tell you though, I really like it so I know I will eventually come out of my shell. I'm crate trained and housebroken with supervision and I really really love curling up on the rug in the living room, especially since I've never been in a house before. I'm terribly skinny right now, which is why my head looks so big compared to my body, but my foster mom is feeding me twice a day and says in no time I'll be back to my normal weight. Although, even my normal weight, I will still be a very petite little girl. If you have a big heart, a gentle voice, a soft touch, and will love me forever, please go to www.southernhopedals.org and fill out an application.

Tessa

ADOPTED!

Hey there. My name is Tessa. I'm an 8 month old Dalmatian mixed puppy. I'm a real sweetheart. Gentle, loving and sweet. I came from a local shelter where I was going to be put to sleep, along with my foster sister Lea. A friend of my foster moms picked us up at the shelter and brought us to her. I'm crate trained and housebroken with supervision. I love to play with my foster sisters and brothers and also love to play with squeaky toys and balls. I will even play by myself if no one else wants to play with me. I don't bother the cats and I love kids!!!! I really like living with my foster mom, brothers and sisters, but I really want to have a family of my own who will take good care of me and love me. A family with kids for me to love and another dog to play with would be a dream come true for me. If you are my forever family, please go to www.southernhopedals.org and fill out an application. If you have any questions about me, please email my foster mom at lizziz101@bellsouth.net.

Samantha

ADOPTED!

My name is Samantha. I'm a 3 year old liver and white Dalmatian. I was taken to a local shelter by my family because they didn't want me any more. I don't know why because my foster mom thinks I'm the best thing since sliced bread, not to mention the fact that she thinks I'm absolutely gorgeous. About a week after I got to my foster moms house I got really sick and Dr Tyler put me on medication for three weeks. Now I'm better and feeling great. I get along with all my foster sisters and brothers, and love my foster cats, especially Bella, who is in one of my pictures with me. I'm very loving, gentle, quiet, laid back, sweet and good with children. I'm also very good in my crate and house trained with supervision. I don't spend alot of time in my crate though because I'm so well behaved in the house and I sleep in my foster mom's room at night. If you would like to adopt me and will keep me forever, please go to www.southernhopedals.org and fill out an application. If you have any questions about me, please email my foster mom at lizziz101@bellsouth.net..

Elliott

ADOPTED!

My name is Elliott. Aren't I the cutest little pup you've ever seen? I came from the shelter Miss Angie works with. My little brother and I were both going to live with our foster mom, but sadly, my brother got sick and died just before we were getting ready to leave the shelter. I miss him so much but at least I have lots of foster brothers and sisters to play with. My foster mom was so worried that I was going to get sick and die too but I didn't. So here I am. I'm about 4 months old, won't be very big and I'm as sweet, loving and gentle as can be. I'm very good in my crate and we're working on housetraining. When my foster mom lets me out of my crate, I run right to the door to go outside. I sleep through the night with no accidents in my crate. I'm playful and fun but I'm also quiet, loving and like to snuggle. My foster mom always laughs at my whiskers because they're very long and they curl around in loops. I love living with my foster family but would really really love to have a family of my own some day soon. Are you my family?? If you are and would like to adopt me, please go to www.southernhopedals.org and fill out the application. If you have any questions about me, email my foster mom at lizziz101@bellsouth.net.
