Welcome
The
Southern Hope Humane Society and the Homeless Pets Foundation are nonprofit humane organizations
dedicated to promoting and protecting the health, safety and
welfare of Atlanta's homeless dogs and cats, helping pets stay
in loving homes and educating the public about preventing pet
overpopulation and homelessness.
All of our pets are given individual
attention, medical care and a loving environment. Because of the
individual attention each pet receives, we are able to let
potential adopters know in advance whether a pet is housebroken,
if it gets along well with other pets and other important
information. Prior to adoption, all of the pets in our program
are given shots, spayed and neutered, wormed, heartworm tested.
Southern Hope Humane Society holds adoptions
at the Kennesaw Pet Smart and Ponce De Leon Pet Smart
stores every Saturday from 1pm to 6pm. If this isn't convenient
to your schedule, other arrangements can usually be made for you
to meet your potential new family member.
Not all pets are brought to all adoptions,
so if you would like to adopt we recommend that you look through
the pets for adoption on this website and apply online prior to
coming to an adoption day. This will ensure the pet you are
interested in will be brought to the adoption you plan to
attend.
On This Site
some things to
think about:
There are 45 cats
and dogs for every person born.
Only 1 out of every 10 dogs born ever find a permanent home.
Only 1 out of every 12 cats born ever find a permanent home.
800 dogs and cats are destroyed each HOUR in the U.S. because
there are not enough homes for them!
